Do you find yourself feeling frustrated with working so hard to see results, and getting nowhere? If you struggle with this issue, know that you are not alone. Many patients in The Woodlands have concerns with various areas of their bodies that they wish to fix. Many people simply focus on their stomach area when trying to enhance their bodies, but if you want to sculpt your body, liposuction is the way to enhance multiple areas at once.

A Little More Information on Liposuction

At Myers Plastic Surgery in The Woodlands, we understand that looking your best is important to you. Liposuction is one of the cosmetic surgeries we offer that can help you to achieve your desired look. Performed with a thin cannula that is inserted through small incisions, liposuction sculpts areas of your body, removing unwanted fat. Depending on your weight and lifestyle factors, the amount removed will vary. However, the result is that any unwanted pockets of fat will be removed and your physique will look the way you have always dreamed it could look.

Types of Liposuction

At our office in The Woodlands, we perform the safest and most widely used method: Traditional Liposuction. However, it’s imperative to know the different methods you can choose from in order to determine which method would be best for you. Based on how they are performed, we have categorized three methods:

Traditional Liposuction: The first kind of liposuction you’ll probably hear about is traditional. When this surgery is performed, Dr. Myers will use general anesthesia for the procedure. This type of incision is most common and is the preferred method of our plastic surgeon.

Tumescent Liposuction: This type of procedure uses local anesthesia versus general anesthesia. This is because local anesthesia can be safer depending on certain patients. Because it is a bit safer, this kind of incision is also common.

Laser Liposuction: There are two types of laser liposuction including external and internal. External laser liposuction consists of using a laser that is placed only on the outside of the skin. Instead of other procedures, external laser liposuction doesn’t involve any suction. This is the least invasive type of liposuction for patients. Invasive laser liposuction, however, does involve the laser being placed inside the skin, helping to tighten your skin all over. This type of liposuction is a lot more effective than external liposuction.

It’s essential to know the different types of liposuction because ultimately this can have a huge effect on your decision whether or not to get the procedure. Liposuction is extremely helpful in sculpting your body in specific areas, which is why it’s so popular. When choosing an incision type, knowing the benefits and disadvantages helps you make an informed decision.
